Pope John Paul I

1978

Pope John Paul I was in office only 33 days.
Pope John Paul I was very anti-communist, which I think explains why he was only in office 33 days. When one looks at the history of the recent popes, one can realize why it was so important to remove any anti-communist pope — because of the harm that one man could do. The point was to strike terror in the following popes. Two popes had been "done in" by the communists: Pius XII and John Paul I. Later, an attempt was made on the life of Pope John Paul II in an obvious shooting — not a questionable poisoning.
